What are Botox and dermal fillers?

Botox and dermal fillers are two different cosmetic injectables that are often mistaken for each other. While these two treatments serve different purposes, the results they provide often compliment one another, and both are available to patients at Revive Wellness.

As we age, our skin loses collagen and elastin, which can cause sagging and volume loss. Dermal fillers can help to counteract this, adding fullness to areas like the cheeks and lips, and restoring facial definition and symmetry. Not only is it a safe and minimally-invasive procedure, but it’s also a great way to refresh your look and get that coveted glow.

What are the benefits of dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers plump your lips or restore lost skin volume to improve facial contours and make your skin appear healthier and younger. Fillers can also stimulate collagen and elastin production.

The Restylane Difference

At Revive Wellness we only want the very best products for you. Thats why we chose Restylane fillers from Galederma. Restylane™ is a cosmetic filler used to fill in fine to moderate lines around the areas of the mouth, eyes and nose. The side effects of Restylane™ are similar to those of other injectables, minimal redness with the possibility of minor inflammation.

What is sculptra?

Sculptra® is an injectable dermal filler consisting of poly-L-lactic acid. European physicians have been administering Sculptra® under the name New-Fill since 1999, and in 2004 it was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration for use in the United States. In addition to treating fine lines and wrinkles, Sculptra also helps with creating volume and facial contouring where fat and volume have been lost with age or weight loss.

Sculptra is an FDA-approved injectable that helps gradually replace lost collagen—the most common protein in the body that is used to form a framework to support cells and tissue—for results that can last up to two years

What are the benefits of Sculptra?

As a poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) collagen stimulator, Sculptra helps restore the deep, underlying structure of the skin to diminish facial wrinkles.

Sculptra works with your body within the deep dermis to help revitalize collagen production and help restore your skin’s inner structure and volume.1,2,4

Sculptra may stimulate collagen growth which helps to restore facial volume and the look of fullness to wrinkles and folds over time.

If you want to appear more youthful-looking — without appearing like you’ve had work done — then chances are Sculptra may be a good choice for you.

Is Botox or dermal fillers right for me?

To find out if you’re a candidate for Botox, dermal fillers, sculptra, or both, the experts at Revive Wellness ask about your medical history and desired outcome. They evaluate your face or body in areas that concern you before tailoring your treatment plan.

What should I expect during Botox  injections?

Before Botox injections, your expert at Revive Wellness numbs the treatment area to enhance comfortability. While you relax in the treatment chair, your provider injects Botox, fillers, or more than one type of injection into targeted areas. The procedure takes just a minute or two for each injection, making Botox and fillers excellent lunchtime treatments.

What happens after Botox and dermal filler injections?

After Botox or dermal filler injections, there’s no downtime, and you can resume normal activities immediately. Expect some temporary tenderness, swelling, or redness at the injection sites, and apply ice to the treatment area to reduce swelling if you’d like to.

While dermal fillers often take effect immediately, it could take a day or two to notice the effects of Botox. Botox usually lasts for several months before you need repeat injections to achieve long-lasting results. Dermal fillers may last 6-24 months or longer.
